Hedonova was founded in December 2019 by Suman and Alex, who have backgrounds in portfolio management and investment banking, respectively. Suman and Alex were trying to invest in a chain of dental clinics in India that their common friend had founded. What they thought would be an easy task, turned out to be a frustrating undertaking for both experienced investors. After a lot of loops, when they were finally able to do it, other investors were keen on alternative investments globally.
The company received an initial investment of $90 million from the founders, the Royal House of Oman, and Morgan Stanley. For the first half of 2020, Hedonova operated as a private fund using the time to set up compliance structures In the countries we operate in and stress test our systems. In June 2020, the fund was opened to outside investors.
Freedom. We're doing this for freedom. Freedom to let anyone invest in anything they want, anywhere they want. Our ability to invest must not be limited by political borders or hindered by arcane national policies. Assets created by people belong to mankind, and anyone willing must have the tools to invest in them.
Someone in China should be able to invest in African assets, and a citizen of the United States should be able to invest in Indian real estate. Our ability to invest in blockchain assets should not be governed by which political party rules over a country.
We dream of creating an institution that can achieve this one day, to create a world where everyone can freely invest.
